About Sandy

Sandy is a teacher, attorney, small business owner, and community volunteer.

Sandy finds great fulfillment in volunteering once a week as a crisis worker taking phone calls from people dealing with drug and alcohol problems or considering suicide. She gives free elder law educational seminars at assisted living facilities and retirement communities in and around her district. She attends community events for Stand for Children, the Oregon League of Conservation Voters, the Georgetown Alumni Club of Oregon, and Tualatin River Keepers. She keeps informed of local topics by talking to her neighbors and attending events like the Washington County Public Affairs Forum weekly luncheons.

Sandy has a solo law practice where she handles business formation, elder law, and land use/real estate cases. She takes great joy in her job helping seniors plan for the next stage in their life and new entrepreneurs plan for successful start in their business. As a consultant and small business owner she helps support other organizations by providing contract management, legislative drafting and compliance services. She also teaches land use and real property law at Portland Community College to paralegal students.

Sandy graduated from Towson State University with a degree in social sciences and a minor in secondary education. She has a law degree from Whittier Law School where she graduated cum laude and as a Fellow of the Center for Children’s Rights. She has a Master of Laws from Georgetown University Law Center where she studied energy and environmental law. She has worked for a State Supreme Court, as a prosecutor terminating parental rights for children who had been seriously abused, for the Mayor’s Office of a city of approximately 59,000 residents handling major infrastructure issues, and for a prominent law firm handling land use and elder law matters. She has served as member jurisdiction representative on the Interstate Commission on the Potomac River Basin, Source Water Protection Committee, as a City representative on the City of Frederick Water Supply Task Force, a State Central Committee Alternate Representative for Washington County Democrats, and a precinct committee person for HD26 – Precinct 323.

Sandy lives in Aloha with her husband, David Robinson - a Commander in the Naval Reserves, and her two Chocolate Labs. She enjoys time at the Hondo Dog Park or Hagg Lake and likes to be outdoors cycling or running. Sandy has competed in triathlons since 2005, including the Blue Lake Olympic Triathlon in 2008 and a half ironman in 2006.
